Description

**THIS PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN CANCELLED**

The San Diego Symphony Orchestra brings its season and celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven to a close with the timeless composer’s Ode to Joy — that divine spark. Beethoven’s ninth and final symphony boldly takes us on a triumphant journey from the chaos of uncertainty to a wholehearted embrace of the joy that comes from our connection with our fellow humans. In addition to delivering the stirring Ode to Joy, the San Diego Master Chorale will perform the “Prisoners’ Chorus” from Beethoven’s Fidelio with the Symphony.

  • Rafael Payare, conductor
  • Felicia Moore, soprano
  • Kelley O’Connor, mezzo-soprano
  • Paul Appleby, tenor
  • Soloman Howard, bass
