Johannes Brahms’s Geistliches Lied (Sacred Song) and Henry Purcell’s eight-voice anthem Hear My Prayer O God represent some of the most moving and inspired compositional crafts in the choral repertoire. Anyone who has experienced these works as a singer knows that they are musically satisfying and vocally inspiring. The SD Master Chorale performed these works in the beautiful St. Paul’s Cathedral in 2016 and will release the concert footage of that performance on Sunday, November 1st. Music Director John K. Russell will provide a short pre-concert introduction of these two works.
