"The medium for poetry is not ink and paper. The medium for poetry is the human voice. We sometimes forget that in its earliest forms, poetry was an oral performance. So there is a natural connection between poetry and song, and this wonderful event allows for music and poetry to converge in fascinating ways."

This Lecture Performance will feature a reading of Robert Frost’s poems that are also featured in Randall Thompson’s Frostiana. These readings will be followed by a performance by members of the San Diego Master Chorale of the Thompson settings, and Executive Director Robert Bernard Hass of the Robert Frost Society will add discussion and commentary. The event will also feature a question and answer session for the audience. This Lecture Performance is free to the public.
